Carol Petrucci, MPH, has over 20 years experience in program development, management, and evaluation in community-based non-profits throughout the United States. She has served as Prevention Services Coordinator, Research Coordinator, and Executive Director in NPO’s serving youth and adolescents. She has successfully secured funding from governmental and non-governmental sources. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Art & Community Organizing , and a Masters Degree in Public Health.
Carol began her career as a community organizer, working on tenant self-management issues and voting rights in Illinois. She was the coordinator of the Marcus Garvey Freedom school, working with parents and youth in Public Housing in Springfield, Il. Today that school is run by some of the students Carol knew as toddlers. Since that time, she has developed, managed, and generated funding for a variety of afterschool and supplemental learning programs in economically stressed communities including public housing and low-income African-American and Hmong neighborhoods. Her work with adolescents has also taken her into the areas of gender-specific programming for girls, and social-support programming for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trangendered youth.
Her hands-on, in the trenches experience with families and communities combined with a solid base in evidence-based practices and evaluation methodology, makes her a leading expert in developing and leading community-based programming for a wide variety of people.
